Did you look in the thread: TMCC/LEGACY REFERENCE MATERIALS & MANUALS?
I uploaded all the TAS manuals, perhaps some reading?
What exactly is in the engine, which TAS unit? Taking off is usually an issue with the flywheel tach reader, did you check it's alignment and spacing?
The smoke may be the R2LC setting, there was a discussion about different options and certain ones cause smoke output to change. Try setting the TMCC ID, and then with the switch still in PGM, hit AUX1 then 4. Switch to RUN mode and see if that helps the smoke issue.
With the legacy remote are you operating in TMCC or Cab 1 mode? If in TMCC mode try Cab 1 for better response.
Good Evening!
Does anyone out there have info or a manual for TSA (Bottle Neck R2) system?
TSA? What is that?
Well, it taking off on it's own would likely be the EOB board if you're not giving it throttle. I did recently run across an odd issue with an R2LC drifting off frequency and causing a runaway after being powered on for some period of time, but I suspect that's a rare occurrence.
My check for this would be to put it on a set of test rollers and use a heat gun or hair dryer to heat the EOB board up a bit and see if you can force the failure. That's how I found the R2LC issue finally.
John,
Finally after two years, you suggested a reprogram as the first step in diagnosing and it solved part of his problem.
Bill
Bill, I'm just not easily trained!
I doubt a reprogram is going to fix the second issue.
I agree.
Bill
I don't have my manual in front of me but thought to reset a TAS EOB steam engine you use AUX1 8 rather than AUX1 4??Also make sure the R2LC is Ver C08.
Pete
The TAS EOB drop-in board doesn't mention the reset code specifically, only the programming instructions for setting EOB specific parameters. I used the generic steamer code as a starting point, since it worked, it can't be all bad.
