A full day after more than 13,000 gallons of sulfuric acid spilled into the rail tunnel under the St. Clair River, crews were wrapping up efforts this morning to remove the CN Rail cars that had derailed.
"Right now, they are working on removing one more car," said Kris Morris, St. Clair County's public information officer said Saturday. "And then, they're going to start pumping the part full of acid."
About 40 train cars derailed at about 6 a.m. Friday in the tunnel that goes under 10th Street, under the river and into Canada. One car carrying a heavily-concentrated sulfuric acid was punctured, spilling its contents into the bottom of the tunnel.

Sulphuric acid? Well, at least it wasn't hydroflouric acid... Hazmat with a capital H!
Last car out the tunnel is a rotten egg!
