Names of boys handwritten on back of photo...TOM PILSCH and HARRY LEUHERZ!!! You would be 69 years old today!!! Both boys have ages handwritten on reverse as being 10 years old on photo date. Has anyone done the Train Race at the "Y"? Please limit your comments to the YMCA Races...Thanks, Ron B.

My limited knowledge of train races is that it was just locomotives, not actual trains, and this locomotive is pulling at least one car. Are you sure it's just not boys enjoying a toy train?
I was allowed a power unit and 2 flatcars in all my "Y" Races. That was the challenge...not being allowed to race with heavier rolling stock. See the crowd in background. Reverse is marked and stamped by the Baltimore Sunpapers Photographer. I participated in 1960, my first year in Baltimore, as well as several prior years at the YMCA in Scranton, Pa.

There is a Tom Pilsch of the correct age living in Atlanta. He is former Air Force.
I didn't see any Harry Leuherz, but didn't look for spelling variants.
