I have been running my DCS setup with a TMCC command base for some time. I recently built a very small table to begin constructing a small switching layout. I put all the wiring back together, but I'm seeing an unusual issue that I don't remember seeing in the past in regards to Lionel engines. Here is my setup: TIU/DCS remote v 4.20. Have TMCC/TIU cable connected from TMCC base to black (com) wire to FIXED Output 1 of TIU. Z1000 powers FIXED Input 1. FIXED OUTPUT connects to section of fastrack. Red leads to center rail, black, outside rail. When I turn on power, all my MTH locomotives perform as advertised. However, with a Legacy engine the lights all come on, which is normal, but I hear a sound coming out of the speaker, almost like static or "white noise". If I move the thumb wheel, without starting the locomotive, it begins to move. If I switch directions, then all the sounds come on (Only happens on Rio Grande Heritage SD70). My concern is that I will "injure" the Legacy locomotive in some way. I removed the Z1000 and placed a Z4000 in its place and the same result. I remember in the past that the lights would come on, but the engine was silent....and it wouldn't move until I started up the locomotive. Any help on this is greatly appreciated. BTW I make sure the TMCC command base comes on prior to power being applied to the TIU. In the video notice the "white noise" coming from the engine and how it moves without starting up. Also added photo of wiring. Thanks.
