up9000 quits

hello. i was running my lionel up9000 and all was well until i keyed the whistle which immediately the engine stopped. turned the red knob and it took off like nothing happened. keyed the whistle and it stopped again. any thoughts?

Try resetting to factory settings/defaults........

hello. just got back and read this post. i tried that but it didn't work but i had a spare r2lc board and installed it and all is well. sorry this is so late. thanks anyway for your reply.
