Upgrading Mth Proto 1 Diesels body parts

Hi- Has anyone tried upgrading the front pilot coupler housing on a Proto 1 diesel F3,F7 (plain) to a Proto 2 diesel F3,F7 (more detailed one)? Also wondering if I can swap power truck side frames on a Proto 1 (plain) to the more detailed ones found on the Proto 2 style units? Would also like to find a source for the later better detailed engineers and fireman? I already own Proto 1's that run great with BCR's installed, some Proto 2/3( 4 electronic cripples now)- don't want to "rebuy" new issues in the $500-600 range because I run conventional and have found it to be more reliable. Any ideas please as to what fits? Parts sources etc. Thanks in advance!
