when I am upgrading TIU and remote with USB cable to Rev L TIU, do I need another power source? I see the red light on in the TIU so wonder if another power source is needed. Please advise. I have looked at Barry's book but do not see any discussion of the point.

It was mentioned at York either at the DCS user group or the OGR 2pm meet. With the usb port you do not need a separate power supply

It's been mentioned on the forum and at the DCS User Group Meeting. It will also be more fully addressed in the 3rd edition of The DCS O Gauge Companion.
just to be sure:
1. I do entire upgrade using only usb cable and no external power supply?
2. if answer to 1. is yes, when I am asked to cycle tiu power I remove and tthen reinsert usb cable into tiu?
