Is there a way to make a fixed voltage track behave as though it were variable by way of some DC override or setup?

Not that I am aware of.
You can use your transformer handle if equipped. Can't do it with a power brick.
The fixed voltage goes directly through, it would only be stopped by the fuse. No chance of the TIU varying it without external help.

We did it with a ZW-C in command mode. You dial up the voltage with the Cab 1 or Cab 2, and because the power runs through the TIU, all channels become variable. Even if you set the variable channels to fixed, the voltage is variable based on your control using the ZW-C or even ZW-L.....or if you use a brick and a TPC.
I power my DCS using the fixed channel - then use a Z4K Track setup thru the TIU to run conventional when I want to.
I can change back at any time by designating what TRACK on the DCS remote I choose, either DCS control or conventional control.
James Stack,
That sir is exactly how had mine set up, in reality it gives the most flexability for controlling different kinds of engines.
