Can any one tell me who would ship something like this to Canada. Radio Shack wont.
And the 273-1690 18V-24V 1 amp with adapter M is only available at Radio Shack and they closed down here. a few years ago.

I'm using a Z-500 brick, if you happen to have one of those it will work. A couple years ago I tried to find the RS one also, no luck, so I used the Z-500.
Any wall wart with 12-18 volts, AC or DC, should power the TIU. Barry Broskowitz says it should have 1 amp capacity, but on my workbench I use an old telephone wall wart with a 400 ma limit, and it works fine.
Well RTR no one in Town has a Z500 for sale and buying one off e bay will run 80.00 with shipping so I'll keep hoping. On the DCS Forum that Radio Shack 273-1690 is the only thing they all talk about
I already had a Z-500 that came with a MTH set and wasn't being used. Just thought you might have one un-used from a set or something. I wouldn't pay $80 for one, that's a bit steep, you can get a Z-1000 with controller for that much.
Keep your eye out in the sale forum. I bought one for a LOT less than that not long ago.
Larry,
With all the new postal regulations and rate increases you will pay more on postage than the wall-wart cost. You might be better off with a MTH Z-500 brick instead of the RadioShack unit.
Thanks Gunrunner John, Happy Pappy I'll put a want on the OGR board now
Overkill, unless you have a few TIUs to power. But it's your money.
RJR - I think I'll buy the Enercell from the auction site $ 35.00 US delivered and I can buy Adapter M at the Source store here in Calgary
Don't you have any old wall warts from devuces you no longer use? Of course, I am a pack rat and keep such things. Have you tried any electronics store, like BestBuy, or even a store like WalMart?
I looked on eBay, there are tons of compatible supplies, usually under $10. If you can buy the adapter plug locally, that should solve the problem.
RJR - Never thought of Walmart - take a look today.
gunrunnerjohn - found a Radio Shack Wal wart on the Bay for 20 plus shipping. Adapter M in Calgary for 2.99
I usually look at the 'bay' when I need something like this.
Got one from the 'bay'. for 20.99 plus mailing. NEW he shows 7 left.
Larry,
If you have any more trouble getting it, let me know I will purchase it from Radio Shack myself, you can pay me for it and I will ship it to you. Never dreamed RS would not ship to Canada, what a load of garbage that is.
Hope you receive your purchase from E-bay however.

To reassure Larry - I purchased the same adapter from the same eBay seller a couple of weeks ago, and it was shipped to me within a few days. I'm sure yours will get to you soon.
Yes. The shipper used E BAY global shipping. It was sent to Kentucky and will be in Canada tonite.2 or 3 days to clear customs and then I may have it Fri July 25
