Hello, Can someone tell me if Weaver ever did produce the PRR BP-20 A-B Diesel Set in "3-Rail" Brass..? I've seen the BP-20 advertised in older issues of the OGR Magazine but have never actually seen an A Unit or B Unit for sale, on-line or otherwise. If they were in fact produced, I would like to buy the A-B Set if anyone knows where a Set can be found. Thank you for any information.

Weaver PRR BP20 Click on the underline phrase to link a few more pictures. A unit is powered B unit is a dummy. Double can motors using TAS EOB drive system. There were powered B units produced. You could also purchase an additional powered A unit at the time. I believe Pennsy ran ABA commuter sets. Baldwin never did electric MU that was compatible with EMD, I believe it was an air control MU system. Used on Long Island. Noted mechanical problems. There was an attempt at a second Weaver production run that was canceled. A B set is 40.5"
As mentioned above, you could get the B-unit as either a powered unit or dummy. Weaver did have the option to add sound to the powered B-unit; I have the sound board but have not installed it yet. Mine are not for sale. Good luck! Ron

Thanks..!! For the great information to "all" who took the time to respond to my post on the Weaver PRR BP-20's. At least now I know they were in fact produced, although it sounds like in very limited quanities. It provides the "spark" to keep looking for a Set of these Pennsy Baldwins. I have the PRR Sharks produced by both MTH and Lionel but in most of the Books I've read on the PRR the C+C six axle Tuscan Baldwin's were always pictured pulling PRR Passenger Trains. Armed with this information, I will continue "looking" for at least an A-B pair. If anyone knows where any can be found, I'd appreciate the lead. Thanks again all, who took the time to reply...
I found a pair at this past York and could not resist....now I have two pairs!!

I would not mind having a set of PRR BP-20s: the only thing better than a Shark is an even bigger Shark. They are very handsome locos. But as to the other DR-6 locos, most if not all, I think had the "baby face" instead, and, yuck . . . not on my railroad. I mean, you have to get seriously ugly (Centipede) to be uglier than that!
