Great pics this week everyone!

My last purchase for a while, got a new strict budget that doesn't have a train envelope, a Lionchief Plus New York Central Mikado.  I'm really lovin' the Lionchief Plus locomotives, they've got the right amount of features for at a very affordable price.

The Mikado and the Hudson....

And a couple of our favorite cars....

Williams Plasticville tanker

And a Lionel Johnny Lightning display car that we replaced the cars with gen5 Camaro's

As of this morning, I've painted the walls, installed the Atlas 20th Century signal system, and have done extensive detailing around the grade along the wall.  I'm working on finishing that so I can start putting in the track work for a yard and locomotive facility that will fill the entire length of the right side of the photograph.

Excellent work!  I like the grass work...did you use a static grass gun? Also very curious as to how you created the fence.  Thanks!

Thanks Chessie,

I used the Noch Grassmaster 2.0 to apply static grass.

The fence was made using the technique I saw on a Youtube video by a Brit, Luke Towan.  Here is the link... https://www.youtube.com/watch?...guMOYoCpw&t=582s  He does excellent work and has many great ideas.  I just adjusted the gauge of wire to use a slightly larger gauge because he models H.O.

I was at the Chicago O Scale show yesterday.  There was a guy there with a small switching layout.  He used aluminum potter's mesh for his chain link.  When I make more fence, I believe I am going to try that instead of the tulle.

A taste of theprogress made on another hopelessly long and drawn out project.  My frequent sidetracks from the layout build often find me totally immersed in minutia. Updates and better pics to come.

Bruce, This project may have been, as you say, "long and drawn out," but I would not say it was hopeless. Rather, it is inspired! And inspiring! You see, I just showed this photo to my wife on her iphone, spreading the picture right up to the border of her screen, and she thought I was showing her a photo of your trainroom that you were re-doing!!!! Yes! Not at first noticing the space between the bottom of the walls and the "floor," she thought it was a real life room, and I guess, in its own way, it is real-life real!

Congratulations on your great success with it!

Hard to have a better compliment than that one from Frank's wife!!

 This just made my day!!!!

It's official then....I have finally managed to botch photography to the point that it begins to look good.  I liken it to tagging railroad cars and buildings with graffiti.  If I post any more pics here on OGR, I run the risk of being charged with vandalism.

Seriously, thanks kindly for the compliments, especially to Frank's wife.
