My gosh, the variety of self-expression in this hobby! We sure do have fun, don't we.

I picked up this MTH 30 9073 Tool Shed at the Nashville December TCA show. It made a nice project to work on over the holidays.
Here is the remodeled tool shed on my layout.
I papered the roof using file labels, added exterior lights, replaced the smoke stack, applied a little weathering and lots of detail parts. My "inspiration" for this project came from a MOW Tool shed that was on the Lewis Ertz West Tennessee Central Railroad.
I am still looking for a structure that will come closer to the MOW buildings I saw on the WTC in order to build an exact copy. My scratch building skills are just not up the skill level it would take to build this structure from the ground up.
Thanks and Happy New Year to all.

Happy New Year...and happy weekend, everyone! Here are a few shots of my two latest motive power acquisitions. A Lionel Legacy D&H GP38-2 and a K-Line CNJ ALCo RS3. Both will eventually take their turn through the weathering shop...
Now that it's been built and used, I can start enjoying 2015 Christmas Layout memories
Here's the layout. It has 2 sets of trackage:
1. The inner set of tracks has 2 sections so that I can run my 2 tin-plate trains using DCS there. Those 2 tracks are connected making for fun running when trying to swap the track that each train is running on. Here's the inner layout showing also the scenery design:
The outer set of tracks goes around the above shown inner set. The outer set is 3 loops running 3 conventional engines. Those 3 tracks are connected in 3 different places again making it fun to run when swapping tracks that each train is on. here's the outer 3:

Richard, that looks fantastic! Nice work!
Thanks for sharing.
An old Weaver PRR E8 AB set that I've put together over the last year or so. Bought the B unit on the bay and picked up the A cab last year here. Been looking for a year for a chassis and Scott K had one available. The chassis is probably an early MTH PS1 and the pilot has a heck of a gap. Will have to cure that and ditch the lobster claw. Great shade of green however. Non-powered for now, will probably sit at a station or siding...

Yesterday, I went over Gilly@N&W's (Tom) and help him lay track on his attic N&W layout. This is going to be spectacular when it's done. Here are a few shots....
Check out the double deck bridge over the stairwell and the large "hidden part" of the layout in the unfinished portion of the attic.....where long trains can be sent and/or hidden.
The control panel is also cool.

This is great. I LOVE attic layouts!

Way to go, Peter . . . always remain loyal to your Home Road. (Or, here in Texas, "Ride for the brand that pays ya.")
Nice photos.

All right, Dave! That definitely warrants the awarding of ten merits to your personal record.

Scott,
You could squeeze in a reference to another sci-fi classic if you gave the Storm Troopers an extra tool to help them ...errr... "comb" the desert:

Here's a few pics for this week. First up are some shots from down at AGHR today, Had a chance to run my S-2 and M10000:
Our club sea serpent, Pedro, continues to be a hit with visitors (even if that guy on the sinking boxcar isn't a fan):
This evening, the kids and I finished work on some minor upgrades to our MTH mobile homes. We re-did the skirting (using scenery sheets), added some curtains, added a little greenery around the bottom, and did some general light weathering. The pink one also has a flashing blue-ish LED added that makes it look like the inhabitants are watching TV. Looks much better than straight out of the box, in my opinion:

I'm doing good Frank. I'm still sore from the surgery.

Then, Let me suggest (having gone through several surgical procedures Sept. - Nov.) the following:
(a) indulge yourself w/ plenty of rest (an important healing time). Naps are good;
(b) eat foods with real nourishment in them (aids in healing);
(c) don't strain yourself nor be too eager to resume physical labor/efforts. Even running a vacuum cleaner can put significant strain on your insides.
With respect, FrankM
