For me, since the "latest and greatest" in trains are not my thing, the "scenic world" is a great time for me. When I got back into trains, in the early '80s, there were very few 1:43 cars, no Miller signs or Ameritown buildings/fronts, trees were a bit primative, figures were mostly plastic lacking in detail and variety. There also was no internet for ordering, bidding, or communicating with others in the hobby (something you very young folks cannot imagine}.
