In addition to the previously listed "challenges" of the recent Lionel Heavyweights, of which half of my lot had problems, I just discovered what could be what the Postwar guys call rare or "one-of-a-kind." This was part of a 2-car set and the other car was okay, save two journal covers that were popped off. My dealer is checking to see if he has another car to swap out with. Because I spent a HUGE amount of money on the Polar Express, regular and gold, and PRSL cars, and because am a fan of Lionel and am still trying to be, I am writing a letter to the President of the company letting him know my experience. I honestly don't know if it'll reach his desk, or if he'd actually be the person to read it, but its worth the price of a stamp. I encourage others who've experienced QC problems to do the same. Its really the only way the big man will know what's going on. I understand his name is Howard Hitchcock. Its not like this is Walmart priced items...these are premium items with premium price tags.
For those unfamiliar with the PRSL, it should have "Seashore Lines" as the 2nd picture shows.
