Of course, any certainty Bader has about General Electric’s decision or any feelings Slawson has about how GE Transportation has behaved in the past are muted by one reality: General Electric’s days as the owner of GE Transportation are likely numbered.

A multibillion-dollar deal is moving closer to the finish line, probably sometime in the first quarter of 2019, that will see GE Transportation spun off and merged with Wabtec Corp., a railroad equipment company based in the Pittsburgh suburb of Wilmerding.

I hope it will be a American company.  We don't want them Chinese building the real 1:1 trains too!

Why ? Jeffrey Immelt  transferred all of GE's intellectual property to them several years ago.  The Globalist in both parties have assured us all how great the New World Order is going to be.  Geez I can hardly wait !  John,  how can you doubt them before you actually catch them lying.   Lets all say a prayer for Wabtec.                   j

WABTEC is a descendent of Westinghouse Air Brake.    So in that sense it is a cool merger.    I don't know who "owns" wabtec now however.    Another factoid, when PRR stopped using steam power, they donated an I1 2-10-0 to WAB and it was displayed in front of the plant for years.     I think it has since been moved and donated someplace else.
