Well, the CAB3 won't, but I believe it was discussed on Dave's video that the TIU connection will be made from the BASE3.
Hi John sorry a made a typo I meant the base 3. I corrected the post to reflect this. Thank you
I know, I was just having a little fun with you.
It has been a long week and it is only Monday!!!!
Hey @gunrunnerjohn, do you recall which of Dave’s videos? I’ve been watching the base 3 ones and didn’t see it mentioned. I’m not yet in either dcs or tmcc and thought the base 3 looked interesting and wanted to learn more about using it with dcs. Maybe it’s too soon as well.
Currently as is described in other threads, the MTH TIU connects to a Lionel LCS SER2 Module with an MTH supplied cable. The SER2 then is connected to the serial port on the Base2 with the LCS DB9 cable with power supply(6-81499). The Base3 appears to not have a serial port. The Base3 has 3 PDI connectors for LCS connection. Do the PDI ports on Base3 supply power for the SER2 and other LCS modules?
Mike
The BASE3 has a USB port, the jury's still out on exactly what it's function might be.
Dave had said on the TrainWorld catalog show that the TIU will use the SER2 connection.

Thank you Marty! I will have to take a look at that video.
@Flyer 52 posted:This is from the DCS Companion that Barry Broskowitz did which appears on the OGR forum in another thread. Note this drawing shows the Base2. The Base3 does not appear to have a serial port. This currently enables the DCS app to control Legacy locomotives, not sure beyond that.
The BASE3 supports the LCS SER2 module that supplies a serial port.
