Have a question am relatively new to this. Have DCS on my layout but purchased a Williams U33c diesel and am running conventional using a MTH z4000. Is there a way to slow it down. The o.ly way to run it at a slow speed is to bring the arm down to 7-8 and at that level horn doesn't always work and lighting is barely noticable. Just wondering if there is a way. Thanks.

Series wiring can have a marvelous effect on many dual-motor locos. I have a
former PS1 MTH NS SD60 that I bought cheap-ish with fried electronics, and a few years

ago had Train America update it (I had yet to start doing that myself) with TMCC, but no EOB - that had yet to come out. It ran well, and was no speed demon, but was still just a little too eager.

A couple of weeks ago I popped the top and wired the motors in series, and, honestly,

it acts (almost) as if it has cruise control. Took 15 minutes, screwdriver to screwdriver.
