@BZ Exciting stuff! Did I miss where the expansion specifically runs? It sounds like the expansion will be a freight and passenger expansion.
Bill, it is between Borden Shaft and Westernport. They will interchange with CSX at Westernport.
So it looks to me the George’s Creek isn’t connected by rail to the WMSR except by CSX between Westernport and Cumberland.
I wonder if they're going to use the tunnel under Frostburg @Mark Boyce. That would be something!

Yes it would be something! I have never heard of what condition it is in, just know that there is a tunnel.
I'm going wager its in rough shape from what I could see from the turntable at Frostburg. It looked like trees/bushes/grasses had grown up in front of it. But hey, Big Boy and 1309 were restored so I supposed anything could happen with the right amount money.
I checked real quick on Google Maps and it doesn't look like there was a connecting line to Cass Scenic Railroad haha that would be awesome!

Cass is on my list but I doubt we would have time. I'm so glad those locomotives are running. They have to be incredible to see in person!
I'll look into the other places. Should be a good time! Thanks for the suggestions!

Nice video at Cass. I got thinking; it’s been 35 years since we were at WMSR and Cass. Neither of our daughters were born yet. We did take the oldest with us to EBT, so that was 1992, because the youngest wasn’t born yet. Time certainly passes by!!
@LT1Poncho we are very fortunate to have those engines restored and running. They're so unique. Thanks for posting the video!
The #1309 is back. Received an email this morning saying the #1309 will be operating on weekends in 2025.
