Can I use the Z1000 brick (no controller) with the Lionel Legacy Powermaster? I either read or saw a video somewhere saying the MTH Z1000 was not recommended for the Powermaster, but I don't know if that is referencing the controller/brick combination v just using the brick. This is for a small upper loop on our layout that is powered now with the Z1000 brick and controller today running only conventional.
I have another independent loop below it running Legacy using the Legacy Command Base attached to its own Z1000 with the controller. The instructions for the Legacy Command Base say to use the controller when powering with MTH Z1000. So I'm a little confused on why the same set up is not recommended for the Powermaster. The plan is to run another wire from the Command Base to the upper loop and be able to use the Cab2 remote for the conventional trains, too.
I have a couple of bricks that aren't in use now and I want to use what I have v buying another type of brick (Lionel 135 or 180) if possible. The goal is not to spend money if the stuff in the closet would work.
Thanks
