Z4000 amps issue

Is this an earl model?  If you have just a bulb on the Track 2 output does it glow?  If not I would not worry about it.  G

Good question.  We have two Z4000s that have Patent Pending on the bottom.  I'll check tomorrow to see if any current is present on the other track.

Track 1 and track 2 may not be fully isolated. Are they connected by switches ( an interlocking) anywhere?

Could you have possibly connected a hot from one track to the other track?

There is no evidence of any current passing through from track 1 to track 2 so I won't worry about it.

Both tracks are totally isolated.

Did you find similar readings on the other Z4000?

I would disconnect the Z4000 from the layout and connect an 18v bulb to each output and observe the readings. If they are the same, then a call to MTH would be in order.
