Mark,

I will ask this again. When will you start releasing more than one freight car per week?

Thank you,

Jim Sutter

Morning Jim,

I'm sure that you saw I "liked" the question when you asked earlier . I don't want to put my foot in my mouth with an answer that I can't deliver upon. Sorry Jim!

At MOUNTAIN Dew truck on a WATER LEVEL ROUTE flat?

I know that everything is not real in much of O Gauge land, but I am surprised that Dominic was the first/only person to question why a very-ultra modern truck is being offered on a flatcar for a rail line that went out of existence over 45 years ago?   The Pepsi on CSX car was fine, but this looks weird.

I look at it like this:  It's an inexpensive way for me to get a good flatcar, and a cool truck.  I've purchased several flatcars with loads , now, from Menards.  I've rarely kept the load that came with them on the flatcars.   Rather, I take the loads; trucks, ambulances, tractors, etc.., and place them in scenes around the layout, and use the flatcars for other loads that fit the train I'm pulling.

I agree ESCAPEROCKS, its a cheap way of putting cool trucks around the layout if you don't like the style. I usually by two for that purpose. the diecast  truck , by the way, is outstanding in quality  and great looking and ALSO for the price.. Bob

Simple answer is that Menards is not a train store, never has professed to be prototypical, is not trying to address the rivet counter market, and is just making fun things.....much like what Lionel started out to be over half a century ago. There are some who probably would feel better if they never opened up a Menards' thread as I am sure that it exasperates them to no end. Others of us are happy to see something affordable to run on our railroads that most visitors will not care or know any of the history of the car. When I open up a Menards thread from Mark, it is as if I am sent back 60 or more years when a Lionel Catalog came out. I let the kid in me shine through, rather than the adult. This is in no way to be a dig at anyone on the forum...it is just the way I see the Menards product. For prototypical fare, Lionel, MTH, Atlas, Weaver, and others have saturated that market...and you pay the price.

I may be the lone opinion, but I am really satisfied that Menards is not attempting to compete with that market as my railroad is driven by thrift rather than total correctness.
