There's always a catch.
You would need a large layout.

I live in PA and sometimes this state just baffles me...
You can only buy the bridges to reuse them elsewhere - no scrapping them out, okay.
But if they don't sell we will demolish them to make room for newer bridges!?!?
that's the guv-ment for ya!!
Note that the article makes reference to the fact that the State, (PA), did sell (9) bridges.
One of those worthless pieces of information in my foggy head is that the city of Pittsburgh has more bridges than any other city in the U.S. Why not have a spare setting around for an emergency.
They should ask the folks that bought and moved the London bridge to Arizona desert and stack them all up together.
Maybe not, they would start calling them a bunch of bridges to far. (ya, that was bad)
Nopne of these are railroad bridges? I have seen short former RR trestle spans used on farms to cross creeks...I think there is one visible from the Pa. Turnike...
In Exeter Pa, there is a partially washed out RR trestle crossing the Susquehanna river which a towing contractor purchased from Luzerne County. Unfortunately, his legal troubles have cost him tens of thousands of dollars in fines, back taxes that are due, and jail time from a FBI sting. Now the county has to raze the trestle on the taxpayer's dime!

Recent addition of Rails to the Montour Bike Trail (Montour RR). The Montour RR Historical Society placed one of the old bridge supports that was removed on display.
I keep thinking of the credibility problems they'll have when and if the government in NYC area ever decides to sell the Brooklyn Bridge.
Mike .....I've been over that Pond Eddy bridge.....252' long and 16' wide.... and, its price is anywhere from $1-500 plus shipping. I once paid $30 plus shipping on a Lionel PostWar 321 Trestle bridge......I was robbed!

Several years back, NJ Transit replaced a unique "skewed" through truss bridge on the Gladstone Branch. They offered to sell the old bridge to anyone for $1.00 if they would re-use it and pay for moving it. There were no takers.
