1:1 Crossing Signals power question | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

My son and I were given an old set of Safetrans crossing signals with the relay box and a diagram to power it via a 6 volt battery. This has worked OK, but the battery drains pretty quickly. How would I go about powering this from a regular 120 volt home plug? Is there a transformer that would work? Thanks for any advice!

You can use a toy train transformer and one of these. Don't use the original flashing mechanism.

The battery and a battery charger hooked up to charge when not operating?

Otherwise, a transformer (what’s the max voltage that can be used?) and rectification and a large capacitor.
