This is probably very old news, but has anyone else discovered that Hallmark car and truck Christmas ornaments are 1:43 scale? I used to work at Hallmark, and I have quite a collection of ornaments that I was sorting through recently. When I got to the cars and trucks, I said, "Hey! I wonder if these would work in Plasticville!" And sure enough, they did. I scored some great pick-up trucks, since those were the ornaments that I bought the most. Plasticville needed pick-ups, too. One was a '59 El Camino that I really like. Pull out the tree hanging hooks from the roofs, and voila! The Christmas trees and wrapped presents in the truck beds can go or stay. Who knew?

Terry,  If my memory is anywhere close to clear, the 1950ish Chevy/GMC brown pickup truck with the Christmas tree in the bed was very close to 1:48.  I had several and gave them to two rail modelers.  John

Yes, John, I have the brown '53 GMC with the spare tire mounted on the side, and I like it. I also have a '57 white over red Dodge that I like, among others. And whatever scale, they work for my layout. I used to use all of them in a tabletop holiday scene from Thanksgiving to New Years, along with Lemax buildings, people and accessories. Loved it! Anyway, I digress, but I can't find those vehicles available anywhere else, like at Fairfield Collectables, Amazon, or whatever. So, thanks Hallmark.
