Any reason why Lionel uses such crummy wire on their accessories. I am thinking of opening the control and putting some 22 ga wire in as a replacement. Anyone do that?

yes it cheap and they save money. A mill here and a mill there and pretty soon you have a penny.
Did your 12915 log loader work out of the box? Any wiring issues? When wired according to directions, the unit is completely dead. All works when I use connector cables. Appears to me that the wire from the AC connector to the circuit board is missing in mine.
Would someone open their 12915 and see if there is such a wire in your loader?
