Where to find UP Color Armour Yellow in a spray can.

I just want to find it in a spray can.  I'd like it to be close enough so it doesn't really stand out, but it just needs to be close.  Ideally, someone here has already done a painting job and knows of the source.

Mth often had reissues sometimes years apart and the colors matched exactly. Take a paint sample to home depot and ask them to match it. They match it exactly using a machine they have there. I suspect lionel just wants customers to buy a new engine, new paint scheme,  that matches the new paint scheme on new passenger cars. Taking care of prior customers to match old colors or new customers with old colors is of no concern of lionel. Lionel can match any color at any time if they wished to match.

Chuck on Gscale train forum might well know. He does painting in UP colors. I'd post the direct link, but I think it's not allowed.

Train Enamel. com is the old Charles Wood paints. UP streamliner yellow. There are in Ohio, you can find them by Googling the name. They have rattle cans.

American Flyer Union Pacific Armour Yellow  16-24.  You can pick the sheen.

Another option if you don’t have a airbrush is use one of these with some Tru Color Armour Yellow.

The only way to do this is to take what you want to paint to a well stocked hobby store and play a matching game. Even different brands of UP yellow are not close to the same thing.  And with Lionel, it’s really anyone’s guess. It’s entirely possible that any of brand XYZ yellows are the right match, regardless of what the bottle cap says it’s supposed to be.

if it must be in a spray can, you may have luck taking your item to a body shop supply store, and having them put the shell in a spectrometer and mixing you up some auto paint.

I don't think posting links to users is a problem, just to commercial sites that aren't advertisers.

There's lots of Armour Yellow paint available, just not in spray cans.

What's a "fill Spray"?

My guess is they take a 4oz. jar and can it with propellant. I see they offer a 2023 UP yellow. Probably pretty dang close to what you want.

I'll have to give them a call and see what it is.

Probably like they do when you go to an auto paint supplier like PPG you can buy specific auto paint colors in pint, quart, etc cans to spray with your own paint spray equipment or you can ask them to fill a spray can and sell it to you.
