This site has club forums for the Lionel crowd and the s gauge national. How about one just for 2 rail folks?? How is one supposed to help reinvigorate this side of O scale modeling and get a new club started if the thread gets lost in the mix on a general 2 rail scale forum? How about it mods? A dedicated forum listing for 2 rail O scale clubs, for their news, open houses, and new clubs forming. Mike

Not needed at all, in my opinion. Besides, just how many 2-Rail Scale "clubs" are there in the U.S.? Could one count them all on one hand? In my experience, the vast majority of 2-Rail Scale modelers have there own layout, and sometimes invite others for "operating sessions". But, "club layouts"? I don't think so.
Actually, there are probably more 2 rail clubs than most people realize. Just off the top of my head I can think of 7 club in the US and Canada. Even with that being said, I don't see a need for a forum for 2 rail clubs. The general 2 rail forum, for which I am very thankful, has very little traffic.
Sounds like some grumpy old men posting above this to me. Its those crappy attitudes for us not having more 2 rail interest. But I am not shocked at the least and I will leave it at that. And the 2 rail forum has more traffic than you realize, with plenty of lurkers that do not post much. All I am saying is if the 3 rail group and especially all the different Lionel clubs can have their own little place to post, there is NO reason in my opinion the 2 rail folks cannot have their own. Then those clubs your not aware of can become better known, post open houses and such. Mike

Since that section is for national clubs, what national 2-rail club do you suggest that would fit there?

There are a number of 3-rail clubs that share news, events, etc., under the appropriate 3-rail category. NY Hi-Raiders comes to mind. And I’ve seen multiple posts by people wanting to start new clubs there. Why can’t the 2-rail crowd do the same? If clubs had to post in one area and individuals in another, you would further dilute an already small area of interest.
The problem with putting 2 rail club stuff under the 2 rail area is it gets lost as the posts keep getting added. With its own spot, its quicker to reference what clubs are out there. Many of them largely unknown unless your able to attend some of the bigger meets like Chicago or are "in the know" Its time for it to have its own place, period. Not where someone has to search or dig thru posts to find club information. At one time, model railroader was the source for all club info, same for shows. Now that option is gone as well. Its not diluting at all, its making it easier to find with its own catagory. Two rail is its own animal from 3 rail and in my opinion needs its own club thread. Or make it clubs and shows for 2 rail. It would be nice if a forum could have its own sub forum like many online forum sites I belong to have. Such as with the antique garden tractors. There is a general tractor forum, then sub forums within that one for each major brand. Same could be done with a sub forum within the existing 2 rail one here, if the forum software is set up for it.
Isn't what you're looking for on oscalecentral.com?

In the final issue of OST there were 47 clubs listed. There continues to be this mythology that there are just a few O scale modelers, just a few O scale layouts, just a few O scale models, etc. There are far more out there than we will probably ever learn about.

Yes it is. Clubs are listed under "Find O Scale" on the OSC website. The contact information and a description of the club is given. This part of the site is public. It is not behind a wall. I am the OSC membership director. Contact me if you have questions about OSC. My email is in my profile. NH Joe
Well "artfull dodger" ... perhaps if we had a higher number of members that were subscribers we could add more categories / sub-forums. By adding more categories, it costs OGR more per month not only in the number of page views but the hours that are spent by moderators. In fact, this forum currently costs a very healthy 5 figures per year (all of those figures are to the left of the decimal point!). Sadly, costs to provide this forum are more than the advertising attributed to the forum. If you would like to see more from OGR, then I encourage you and others to at least become digital subscribers as well as supporting members which could allow us to offer more. So...for now, we will not be adding any additional categories ... sorry.
