While waiting on some lights to finish a few other projects and details for my cardstock buildings I started my next structure.....M. Frank Tool & Die Co.  Matt board and balsa frame covered with 'corrugated sheet metal' vac formed plastic. Grandt and Tichy plastic windows and doors. The large openings will be filled with custom printed windows to allow lighting inside.  It's on the smaller size footprint wise so I can get a bigger variety of industrial buildings into the 'Wrong side of the tracks' area!

PS...the dimensions are copied from a Clever kit.....which I will build later to use also in the same area but I will modify to look differently.  But the size is perfect for the area I have.

I've done that too.....in my HO days! But this is just easier for me.....and total investment in the structure will be less than $15 so it works for me!

Got the paint on the structure and a 'FRANK' on both ends. Sorry for the poor photo....I took 10 photos and all were blurry.....the bright red and my lamps did not get along. Painting the roofs tomorrow and then start detailing the building and grounds.

Again sorry for the pic......

The 'FRANK' logo was done by making a stencil from cardstock and spraying flat white.

Some basic interior work done........

I am doing just a basic interior as the building will be hard to see up close.....but will be lighted and because of the large windows I needed some detail.

A large trolley beam and hoist will be seen through the windows. The beam is a Plastruct item the hoist/trolley was scratchbuilt from some laser cut scraps and a turned wheel I got in a junk box. The trolley will be moveable but I have no plans to do anything further.

You can also see the wing roofs installed. Matt board painted silver and weathered with gray, brown and black water based paints. The large windows are computer printed on clear sheet stock.

Lighting wires run up the silver tube in the corner. These wires run to a LED strip that member Lee W. had posted....nice units the run off 12 volts. The only issue is they are a very bright white and look a bit modern rather than the yellow light of older bulbs.....but I am working on a fix for that.

Still lots of details and a base to go. THX
