243W Whistle Tender

Sometime the relay will not close without a load on the track, IE, locomotive.  This is normal, especially with a ZW. The 243W is meant to go with a 027 Scout loco, which uses a much smaller transformer to power the set.

Yes,  The Tender goes with the 243 Scout.   Picked up this set some 35 years ago at a garage sale.  Sometimes I run the Tender with a 1666 I picked up years ago that was missing some parts and had no Tender.  I got parts and rebuilt the 1666.  Nice Locomotive.   When the tender is on the track with the Engine, its hard to hear the whistle relay with the buzz of the E unit on the Locomotive.

All runs well, so maybe I should not worry.
