The club has been discussing construction of a replica of Philadelphia's 30th Street Station for sometime. During 2015 we went ahead an commissioned a model builder to construct a representation of the station that would fit the platform base we already had made. In late 2015 the model was installed and currently the details of the base are being worked on. That being sidewalk, street and parking areas, in addition to platforms and attendant lighting.

The streets and paved areas will be clear Lexan®, striped as a street/parking lot would be, to allow viewing to the platform below. Sidewalks, etc. are solid.

Some of you may have already seen our live catenary work, a project led by member Drew McCann, with help from other members at times. That project continues as time permits.

You are all welcome to stop by and see this progress when we host an open house in conjunction with our O scale swap meet on Saturday, March 12. The club is located at Grace Church, 7 E. Maple Ave, Merchantville NJ  08109

We hope to see you there.

Well I'm blown out of the water.  Both by the station and especially by the catenary.  My upcoming layout will use live catenary.  I plan to use 1/16" brass for the contact and catenary wires and 1/32" brass wire for the supports.  I've done this in the distant past with brass wire.  So what is your catenary wire made from ?

My uncle lives on Rt 541 in Medford.  I'd like to stop by your layout sometime when I'm headed his way.  Thank you for your invitation.
