Where is a good place to buy a 4.5VDC power supply or converter? I want it for a Miller Engineering sign, but surly there is a cheaper place to buy one.
Thank You

For a battery operated string of LEDs using 3 battries-4.5 volts, I dug out an adapter from a cell phone or something and use that. I guess it is DC. Works good.
You might be able to get a 4.5v AC to DC power supply for less than $5 at Radio Shack going out of business sale. On TUE, remaining stock was 60% off (drawer stock was @ 80%). I believe there's only 8 days left before the doors are closed for good.

Are you referring to the plug-in the wall style, Miller #4802 / #4803 which drives 3 / 10 devices, $7.95 / $16.95:
Or the train transformer accessory-output powered (5-17V AC/DC) version #4804 which drives 6 devices, $12.95:
I think I am going to use the adjustable power supply that Gunner John suggested. I looked at that I wasn't positive that it would work & he answered my question.

Any of the options will work, just make sure they're adjusted to 4.5V before connecting the Miller sign to them.
That's my plan

I changed my mind & decided to use Miller Engineering 4184 regulator to make sure I don't have any changing voltage to the sign. Thank You all for your help.

I don't see that on on their site.
i used one of their pcboard regulators and it did not have enough capacitance to regulate for a few signs. I fixed that and now I see that their newer one looks to have more filter.
I made my own using a LM317 adjustable regulator but I believe Chris said you could use a 5 volt wall wart but you had to make sure it was a regulated type, ie never put out more than 5 volts. The majority of wall warts are unregulated so you have to check. Commercial distributors like Mouser or Digikey will state whether they are regulated. EBay sellers, maybe not.

I use phone chargers, most of them are regulated. Of course, I check them anyway, if they come in close to the rated voltage with no load, they're regulated. The unregulated ones are way high in voltage with no load and only indicate rated voltage at full load.
