I'm looking for a track plan for a $' X 8' temporary layout. I have 0-27 track and switches to use. Something other than a simple round n round loop.
Any ideas?

You could do two ovals and some spurs:
Or you could do two separate ovals running two trains at once and some spurs:
Or you could do an oval, a siding, and several spurs:
But you could do better with something longer than 8'... Are you definitely restricted to that length?

Just a FWIW:
IF you have access to all four sides of the 4x8, then physically being able to reach all portions of the layout won't be a problem.
IF you have one or two of the edges against a wall, you will have reach problems.
Being able to reach into, and thus have hands-on access all portions of the layout, is an important consideration.
