Looks like I'll have plywood boards (not just a loop of custom-cut roadbed) under the pool table, yes- lifting the legs up just enough one at a time for the loop around the pool table. thortrains has lots of fun track plans!-I think my area is closer in size to a 5x9 than a 4x8. But no matter; I can scenic it, add more track, including switches, and even put down buildings, etc. YIPPEE!!!

My USATrack finally arrived yesterday. Last night, laid down the track on the hardwood floor for the around the pool table loop. Track tie edge to edge of the width as the track is put on the floor is just about five feet. GREAT. The loop length wise same track tie edge to edge is about 8'5", hoping I can get Tom to okay it at 9' even.  He is suggesting two switches to diagonal across underneath to store cars, etc. No wall display shelf space here.
