Hi, A friend of mine is interested in this. Is it worth the money? He is having trouble putting his tubular track together.

For a few pieces of track it’s not worth the cost, but for a new decent size layout it’s worth it.

Roy, you can really tap from either end, I just find this is a bit more stable.

The T-Tracker came with a choice of several jaws for different types of track. Extra jaws could be purchased to change the tool.
I think I have the literature around somewhere, I will try to look for it later.
I have what I think is a later version of the tool. The jaws are tightened against the rails by turning a screw with a medium sized plastic handle.
I tried it out when I got the tool, but my layout was already built.
I have seen pictures or illustrations of an older version that had a lever to clamp and release the jaws. But I have never seen one in person. It seems to me that this version would be preferable.
Is this tool still available? I need one for Gar Graves track. I have looked every where but can't find one.

i can see the block of wood working on straight track; but not on a closed circle.
Quality canvas gloves and a strong grip.
I never bought a T-tracker, mostly due to its cost.
IMHO, its best use is separating track already on the layout. Ever try to pull track apart on the layout and it separates suddenly? A big mess on adjacent track sections!
I had one for several years to use with tubular. It has it's place when you want to be sure to handle the track safely. If it can be purchased used for a reasonable price, it is worth having in your toolbox.

I had one of these when I had tube track. It worked well and sold well. I don't see any available anywhere.

Thanks for the replies and research. I ended up pulling the circle back apart and rejoined it using a block of hardwood and a small hammer. It’s now nice and tight.
