Working on getting my 164 log loader up and running. Is the rotary switch a rheostat that can increase and decrease the speed of the chain lift or is it simply an on/off switch?  Can anyone direct me to a schematic that will show the contact sequence of the copper leafs in the controller?  As it is wired now, my rotary switch is functioning as an on/off only, my dump button does not activate the mechanism unless the chain lift is also running and the two lights in the roof are on constantly regardless if the loader is running.  Any suggestions appreciated.

The 165C controller is for the 165 crane, not the 97C

controller used for the 97 coal loader and 164 log

loader.

Greenberg's book has a drawing that shows that the

lights will be on when the power is on and if the 2

outside wires  from the 97c are reversed, the loader

will only unload when the loader is running.

Pa, I'm glad you pointed out that the diagram was not a 97c.  I stared at it moment and thought "Jeez no wonder my 97c doesn't work correctly, most of it is missing.  Then I saw your post and the mention of 4 orange buttons.

Just to make sure that my expectations are correct, if everything is connected properly the rotary switch should turn the chain lift off and on.  The orange button should operate the dump mechanism.  They should operate independently of the other.  The lights should be on when the chain lift is operating. Correct?

I suppose the lights could be jumped to be on at all times if it was preferred. I wish that a schematic similar to the one Repair Technician posted was available for the 97c. Looks like I need to go shopping for a Greenberg Repair book.  Thanks to all that have replied
