I had a 3' spot on my layout that I wanted to put 3 passenger platforms. I figured the #156 post war platforms would look good. Only having one I thought of our own Alex M and the beautiful work he does on stations, buildings and platforms. I told Alex the colors I wanted to go with to make it look like the #156 platform and he "Nailed" it!  Alex does beautiful work and the platform fits right in on a tinplate layout! I put the billboards and passengers on from the platform I have and a couple of repro ones from Hennings trains.   If anyone is looking for one like it you can contact Alex for details and price.

Chris, that's beautiful.. I particularly like the pendant lighting, it's spectacular.

Was it made completely from scratch, or did he "stitch" together, or use parts from, existing 156's?

50 years from now on some Tinplate forum there will be a heated debate about the origins of this!  Does Alex sign his work?

Good morning everyone,

First I want to thank Chris for letting me build this platform for him. I also thank you all for the kind words.

This is built from scratch using the following materials

Plastruct flat stock for the roof

Plastruct H beams for the vertical supports

Plastruct platform bases

1x2 clear pine for the sub base

1/8 inch masonite for the platform base

Model power fence

Plastruct lighting

36 inches long 3 3/16 wide

Thanks very much,

Alex

Thank you for the kind words guy's and I want to thank Alex for doing such a wonderful job!  Hugh: I'll get some over all pics up soon. I'm under a little construction putting up some aluminum shelves for the standard gauge. Walt: You'll have more tinplate before you know it. Once the tinplate bug bites there is no cure!

One other thing is the artist did not sine his work. I'll have to get him to do that the next time he's in the neighborhood!
