I have added LEDs running on 12VDC (old 2.5 amp HO power pak) to most all buildings on small 3 rail O layout but 2 or three remain to be done.
Would anyone know if the following MTH products can operate safely on DC, namely the Lighted Billboard (30-90479 Horlacher's Beer) and the static/non-operating Tank Filling Station (30-90420)? I do not plan to convert them to LEDs but just hook up to DC. These two accessories just have operating lights and no other moving parts.
As well, any idea about the MTH Saw Mill (35-90001 American Flyer version)? It has no lights but there is a small can motor that drives the action.
I was under the impression that the traditional incandescent bulbs in normally found in O models (Billboard & Filling Station) can operate safely on AC or DC. Is that correct?
Does anyone run the Saw Mill on DC?
Instructions accompanying all the above units state that AC is to be used. Is that a necessity or a CYA scenario?
