Right now I have my accessory switches near my control panel.  I would like to have them operate from the fascia nearest the accessory.  Could someone help me answering the following questions:

1.  What type of on/off button is best to use?

2.  How do I wire these to fascia?  A wiring diagram would be helpful.

Paul, if you're thinking of having children or other visitors run the accessories from the fascia switches, using doorbell buttons is a good way to go.  That way, the accessory is only on as long as a finger is pressing the button.  If you use toggle switches, they tend to get left on when the visitor moves on to look at something else.

Door bell buttons are all pretty much the same, they are a normally open momentary switch with two terminals.  Pick a style that you like.

The wiring is simple.  Just drill a hole in the fascia and mount the doorbell button over it.  Run wires to the doorbell button just the same as the ones going to your control panel switch.  You'll be able to control the accessory from either location.
