I went to charge a PS2 steam engine tonight, only to (re)discover that it has no charging port. Based on that fact, I think it is an early production PS2 system with the 5v board. What did I do to add a charging port to this engine? I know I need to find the round port to install in the bottom of the tender. But where do I connect the leads from the port?

MTH sells the kit, I actually have one if you need it. It has directions. The connector plugs replaces the current battery connector and attaches into the 2 pin battery connector on the board. Need to have a hole for the charging port to mount thru. G

Good idea! I should have thought of that. For some reason, I've put BCRs in all my PS1 engines, but none in my PS2s. Time to change that, I guess. I think I may have a spare BCR laying around that I can drop in. Time to get out the screwdriver!
