I want to replace the front / rear head lights on my Lionel Reading T1 that was upgraded to TMCC. I thought it would be as simple as wiring the red and black wires to the bulb but it seems I am missing something.  Originally the engine had an 18V screw type bulb that was in a socket. I replaced it with a LED screw in bulb but it won't light. It does flash when I press the reset button on Legacy remote but that is it. Here is picture of the LED bulb wired up. I did try it screwed into the wired socket but that did not work either.

LED's will not be sensed by the headlight triac (the electronic switch on the R2LC receiver board), and thus won't work without a resistive load.  The resistor Dale suggests is the fix, it presents a constant load to the headlight circuit.  I use a 470 ohm 1/4w resistor, they're readily available for a few cents.  Wire it directly across the headlight bulb and it'll start working properly.
