hello. is there anything out there that can give my trackmobile sound?

I doubt it, there's no room to put any TMCC controlled sound board.
If having some kind of sound is important to you, consider taking a tip from old tech and create a "whistle house" or billboard to hide a board and speaker. It won't be quite as cool as sound traveling with the motorized unit, especially on a big layout, but I would think it beats nothing. If it stays in a small yard area you might never notice.
The size of the speaker you could use should be dramatically better than what you could fit inside a small space too.
I think two main boards with the same ID# would basically operate in sync if you have command on it already (?)
What about gutting the cab and frosting the windows? Would there be enough room?
A dedicated sound car it could pull?
hello and thank you both for your suggestions. i have seen ho trackmobiles with sound decoders, thought it might be possible with o gauge.
I think you might be up one on us then. I think it might be worth a night or two of research. I havent snooped around HO/N sites in a few years now.
Maybe a title change & move, or reposting in the HONGZ section might kick start another path
Ive heard some decent sound out of HO. Good, but not nearly as loud as O sounds IMO.
Im thinking of a gp9 that was run in conventional vs full DCC.,I'm not sure if it had DCC or just sound. I do know it was tsunami sound and they have a decent selection. It was run on an old MPC era dcvolt power pack so I'd imagine a simple bridge rectifier and maybe a capacitor could supply clean enough power for one of their sound boards.
There is still a good possibility it couldn't fit except in the cab. Ive never seen one "exploded" though.
Is your trackmobile tmcc? Are you running a command system, or just conventional?
hello adriatic. thanks for the note. i am running tmcc on my trackmobile with legacy system. i just thought that maybe someone here has installed sound on their trackmobile and maybe i am in the wrong forum but had to start somewhere.
You're in the right forum, but when you look at the Trackmobile, you can see that it's not all that roomy inside.
hello gunrunnerjohn. i agree. i wonder how the ho version gets its sound. i know decoders are small but thought there might be a way to install something in o gauge. thanks for your thoughts.
The HO sound decoders can be very small. For TMCC use, we have limited sound options, and none of them appear to fit into the Trackmobile.

I just thought that maybe a Hongz member might know what's involved with ho versions. Some folk only read within their niche.
I wonder if a MTH HO board would fit? Maybe the Marklin AC version (or one with a bridge rect. added) ?
What board is going into the new mini switcher?
Some may be forgetting this is a TMCC engine. What good is a DCS or DCC sound system going to do for OP?
Pete
Yep, unless you want totally disconnected sounds with the engine at max throttle, the HO decoder is not an option. No horn or bell either...
Hmm, my earlier post did take or I made a boo boo requiring an edit.
I've been having issues with things online so I really don't know if it showed.
If Norton had caught it ...?????
Did GRJohn catch it??? ( Sorry it refuses to let me use an upper case J there) the horn comment has me guessing.
I was unaware MTH was an option for ho trackmobile with sounds, it was not in my search results
. If that's the case, I couldn't see an O version being far off and it's nearing the season for new releases. It would likely be more cost effective if that's the case. And if they do it I'm sure Lionel won't be far behind either, par for the coarse from the leading companies.
I'll try non descript as I can since the above is speculation today..
There is another ho sound unit trackmobile, hence board , that runs sounds while running conventionally and sound is contolled by Bluetooth. So that doesn't need full track power, but I think it may be able to survive 18v max or have the voltage regulated lower or even vary if a constant voltage means hi Rev sound. So it's not really DCC as we are familiar with it, and there is a separate version for full dcc. An analog controller is available as well to activate the horn, etc.
Gutting your cab isn't out of the picture yet though. It still might not fit. It still might not satisfy.
My thought was referencing tmcc power to the motor for the power variation you have in conventional that the ho board may want to see for its rpm revving. The horn would not be tmcc controllable unless the tmcc board happens to sport an unused feature that can still be accesed and that's still a maybe, or maybe a feature that could be sacrificed; so you would need the Bluetooth controller as well for the horn if that's the case.
Im not saying it can be done, or cant, but you need to look at pieces to even attempt to assemble a puzzle like this.
I think a reasonably seamless TMCC controlled sound package would be difficult. If you blacked out the whole cab and installed the sound board there, you'd still have to find room for a speaker. I suspect mine will remain mute.
Fooling around with BT or DCC would be a real kludge, at least IMO.
