Hey guys I am building an O guage layout and have in mind to cover the 3/4” plywood table top with 3/4” tongue and groove blue foam board from Lowes. What type of adhesive would you use to glue foam board to the plywood? Thanks for your help! Bobby Cox

Liquid Nails. I built my layout with rigid foam insulation and used a ton of it.
I would use construction panel adhesive, gun grade. Just some dabs/globs or beads, you don't need 100% coverage.
Just make sure that whatever you get is safe for use with foam, or it could melt.
Actually I don't screw mine. When I put down my track I use zip ties to hold the track down. The zip ties go all the way through the plywood and hold everything really tight. It gives me more flexibility for the future.
Liquid nails and others sell a specific foam panel adhesive.

Whenever trying an adhesive for the first time, try using it on a small test piece to see how it works.
Some of the Fort Pitt High Railers modular work, with foam, require 5 " screws. We also used fender washers with the screws to secure the foam board in place.
I just finished laying down pink board on my benchwork. I used a product called Glidden Gripper. After watching this video on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnOegaOKu38 I thought I'd give it a try. I tried covering the entire surface of the plywood and foam board with a roller first but found it was drying to quickly to make the bond. I instead used three to four inch dollops or puddles about every six to eight inches apart just on the plywood. I then weighted down the foam board with spare paint cans and let it dry overnight. It bonds well and a gallon cost me $25 bucks.
I used screws. No glue. Makes it easy to carve out in the future for landscaping efforts.
is liquid nails good for gluing foam board to foam board or hot glue gun? thanks
Liquid nail for foam board. Click on the link. LN-604.
Mechanical attachment 6" screws and fender washers. 1 1/4" fender washers and smaller 1" fenders. 6" some of the longer screws available, 2" and 3" common. IMO, some of these would hold the foam/plywood assembly together until the glue sets/ may be over night.
Six inch screws used on this module to secure the foam.

I use hot glue. If you need a clean visible joint and fearful of melting, use low temp gun/glue.
This was all hot glued.
