Aero Monorail made in St Louis ,Mo circa 1934 . Cast aluminium car bodies. Stamped steel towers. Rail is split with insulated fiber strip in center . DC powered ...towers need adjustments to provide a more level route ..and bases firmly mounted to lessen passenger complaints. Till then passengers are encouraged to take Motrin prior to boarding.

That is very cool. It has that total Art Deco design look to it, and you have to love the streamlined wheels. According to the sales sheet, you could buy extra 5/32” rubber drive belts, so your rubber band isn’t too far off the mark. And pulleys, too, which begs the question why would you need extra pulleys?

Great post, thanks for sharing.

Hello all ...thank you for your kind words ...I'm very grateful,to have the Aero Monorail ...very few remain as complete operating units .

The Leyland mono rail, was much more successive in the consumer world and many examples remain as well as being reproduced by MTH.

The subway car ...was made for the NYC World's Fair 1939....IND line ..,they had an exhibition with models of the new cars ...
