Looked today and the MTH AMERICAN FLYER " MAYFLOWER JUNIOR " ,which was marked for a December delivery, is now marked cancelled. I had mine on preorder and payed in full with taxes at the Local Train Store.. Too bad..

That stinks. Would have been a nice looking set too.
That's not the only tinplate cancelled. I suggest that folks who have tin items on preorder check the product locator to see if their trains are still a "go."
I see that I have already "saved" some money on at least one set I had on order.
I noted that the RED AF 3117 SET, which is the other version of this Set is still marked for a December Delivery..
I was going to order one a few weeks ago till I saw it was cancelled. Ordered the std gauge coal train set and a couple extra cars in it's place.

I was just informed (MTH through my dealer) that the red set is also cancelled.
I seem to recall that these were canceled just after the pre-order deadline.

Probably...I have a really hard time keeping up with those MTH delivery schedules. I have to check with my dealer from time to time just to re-confirm the existing list and figure out where I am budget-wise and otherwise. A genuine pain when you have multiple items on order.
Thank goodness I'm getting very near to the end of my pre-ordering days.

For one, I posted the cancellation of the AF Mayflower Junior after last York (April, 22). I had inquired about the set in Orange Hall with Mike Wolf. He stated to me in reply that it had been deleted due to insufficient preorders. They may have been slow to update the delivery schedule.

I just paid for mine about 2 months ago and the Local Train Store ordered it through their Dealer a few months before {Maybe in the Preorder period } and didn`t know it was cancelled till I told them, so apparently alot of people don`t know it was cancelled..
Oh, well..."stuff happens" I guess, and with increasing frequency in current times. 
I still have about five or six things on pre-order--tinplate and regular O--so we'll see how things shake out over the next few months or so. It would be nice if at least something shows up in time for Christmas. 
Apparently these days TINPLATE Fans are lucky that anything actualy gets made , especialy New Tooling, I just hope My order for the AMERICAN FLYER 4696 Brass Piper { Which is also completely paid for at the Local Train Store } gets made considering it`s a Diecast Piece and MTH is having some trouble with their High Pressure Diecasting Machine..

But the Brass Piper has been made before (along with a "Nickel Piper") so it's just a matter of time.
