Read this document again. https://www.mthtrains.com/site...niques_Article_7.pdf

Maybe even consider printing it or specific sections or pages to keep handy.

* Note: direction button press has nothing to do with switching modes- it's a simple way to stop an engine or all engines. Again, hitting direction is just one of many ways to stop a running engine. Double tapping brake would do a similar stop to one or all engines setting the MPH to 0.

Ending ALL Engines Operation

  • To end ALL Engines operation and return to individual engine control:
    • Press DIR: Bring all engines to a stop by pressing Direction (or double tap brake button)
    • Press ENG: This brings up the Active Engines list.
    • Scroll to any active engine and press the thumbwheel to select it for individual
      operation

Another thought, you might use the shutdown sequence while all engines is still selected to not just stop movement, but get everything into a shutdown state before then going back to single engine operation.

Or leave them all running, your choice.

I gotta be honest- the same thing would be true in TMCC/Legacy.

You are just sending commands to all engines. The keep doing whatever the last command was.

If you want to stop them all, just hit stop in all engines address mode.

If you want to control a single engine- select it by using engine and ID
