Altering A 1/43 pickup to make it an auto hauler. Who else is interested?

We all know 1/43 pickups are cheap and easy to get.  But how many can you put on a layout before they become overwhelming?  Well... with a Dremel tool and a 3d printer I guess I can fix that!  

First, I used a cutting wheel to remove the bed on a red Texaco Truck.  Then I mocked up Jerr-Dan Rollback bed and printed it on my 3d printer.  But that just was too modern a bed for an older truck so I went back and designed a roll on bed. It turned out better than I could have hoped!  After painting it and mounting it on the elongated frame, I think it turned out great!  Is anyone else interested in doing this?  I have the design and a 3d printer to make you a bed if you want.  (as a bonus I have some highway barriers I printed out in the background)

If your looking for something new to tackle again, how about a streamlined "beaver tail" tanker bed, short tank or long. Or a May be a butterdish type. Not as many in those trucks era as the airflow days, but the style still lingered here and there and would be hard to do in styrene.  I don't think there are many out there in our scale except MAYBE a Texico long tank Airflow or Texico "bug" Google "streamlined tankers" and get past the Texicos to see some other interesting options, some sleek some plain.

If you want some real tow bed measurements let me know. There are two on this block daily and a few a tenant drives that he parks out front for a bit 3-4 days a week.

Put a tank in a tool bed and you have a bushfire truck.
