In most layouts, there is often a need to have a means of connecting a lot of wires to terminal strips. In my layout I use grounding bars in several locations for common feeds of +12VDC (lighting) and 14VAC for accessories. They look like this.

Product Details

While specially terminal strips are available, I found them expensive. These grounding bars I use have the following advantages:

1. they are commonly available at big box building stores in the electrical aisle near the circuit breaker panels

2. they are inexpensive

3. they are available in different lengths for flexibility

4. they can hold a lot of wires. I twist multiple wires under a single screw

5. they use square drive screws which I find much easier to drive while crawling under a layout

6. they are cheap enough to use scattered around the layout for convenience

I apologize if this tip has been shared before.

thanks,

Bob

Very nice!  I was about to try this but didn't know if they were too big or something.  It's good to see.

Has anyone tried using a telephony 66 block for switch machine connections or maybe relay connections.  I know a lot of people use telephone wire.  I was just poking around the interweb and started wondering if these might be useful.  Here is a video but you'll need to jump to about 48 minutes in to see the daisy chaining.

Mike, what type of channel is that.  Looks very nice and neat.

Thanks for the topic.
