I have good intentions, but ...
My L-shaped O-gauge layout has two levels, and I initially intended to install AMERITOWN buildings along the three sides of the upper level with a back-n-forth trolley line in service to that downtown area. Those buildings (and many flats) are still in storage with no space for them after I decided to install 35 Dept 56 lighted porcelain North Pole Village buildings on that level instead. I wanted a Christmassy area on the layout, and some of the Dept 56 pieces were animated for added interest.
The Ameritown buildings are still on hand, so one of these days I may find a way to add them to the layout -- perhaps as background structures for a ceiling-mounted, around-the-room "nosebleed" route.
I also had several Ameritown "Cape Cod" houses on hand, so I made room for five of them in a suburban area with O-scale neighbors enjoying a multi-family picnic on the lawn. Admittedly, not a "gee whiz" scene, but it is a slice of Americana and includes a family dog snatching a steak from the grill.

My one and only. My son and I built this. Natron (pronounced Nay Tron) is a fictitious company named after my son Nate and myself. They have a huge advertising budget and even put up advertising in 34th St. Station.

This is a background building. Hence no extensive detail or interiors. I made a modest attempt to disguise its origins
