I thought I would open a thread to allow people to comment on the just completed railroad hobby show in Springfield, MA.  This was my first time attending. From talking with the vendors, it seems that it was much better attended this year than previous years.  My overall impression was that it was both amazing and overwhelming.  If you were into HO, this was your show.  I thought the best layout was in G scale (I know, I'm surprised too.)  I diligently hunted around for O scale vendors and found a few.  I picked up a really nice MTH premier FT ABA set and 4 NYC Madison 70 foot passenger cars at a really nice price.  My biggest complaint was that the show is not organized in any logical way.  That's a shame because there is so much to see, that you can't help missing stuff.

Yes it was much better attended this year. Last year there was a blizzard before and just after the show and that affected attendance. I went there for the first time and I was at awe the amount of mfg, services and train stuff readily available in all scales. I was also at awe the smount of tourist railroads and museums attending too! One thing lacking was a highrailer group. There was three sceniced layouts with three rail trains in O gauge there. Many ho and n scale layouts. As was stated to me if you are serious in the model railroading business, you needed to attend that show. I am planning to go back next year- wether permitting. Many of you out on the forum should attend this show even if you don't go to many shows. This truly is a " must see" show.

i only went sunday, ( I was supposed to be there Friday and Saturday) But personal things had to be taken care of, atleast now there's a city bus that goes near there, Its called the R14 bus that starts in the Springfield Bus Terminal in Downtown Springfield, Next Year my soon to be wife and My Daughter will join me, just have to plan early

I got a call, today, from my friend, Roy Baker, of Bakers Railroad Shop, who said the final count was 23,400+. He was in the Better Living pavilion, spot #64, and did quite well ( a couple thousand $$$ worth of O-Scale structures and figures, like the ones I am giving you examples offyelloTrucka1AndServiceClosupDUKEPLACEcoal1 here for you.) .
