Brand new 60' Fastrack remote switch.

Conventional set up.

The controllers red and green lights, both are lit, but the little 4 way light at the switch is not.

Also, the switch doesnot respond to the controller, but trains pass over with no issue, so I know there is track power to it.

I checked the connections underneath and they were all tight.

Try a different switch controller on that switch.  Also, do the non-derailing functions work and switch the switch when a train comes into the switch?  I just had a switch with a bad LED, but if the controller isn't switching it, it's probably more than that.

How about using a wire jumper to try to activate the switch from the connections under the switch?

Have you tried turning the switch manually by turning the lantern and the see if the switch responds the other direction? I had one wHere the switch mechanism underneath was not completely closing the micro switch for it to function correctly. A small piece of electrical tape as a shim to help the mechanism close all the way and the problem was solved. If its defective you should be able to exchange it for another one where you purchased it. Is the wire still bridging the block section fitter as well?

John, exactly...Brand new too.

Rick, yes, I can turn the lantern to get it to move.

Not sure what you mean by the block splitter.

What I am going to do is hook up a different switch to see if it works, if it does then I will exchange the bad switch from the vendor.
